ABOUT

Ailina (uh-lee-nah) is a recent graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts earning her BFA in Film and Television. Ailina’s passion for action and satirical genres inspires her to direct, choreograph, and perform her own fight scenes. Her first action short, Tisch v Stern, was nominated by her professor, Vondie Curtis-Hall (Daredevil, Romeo & Juliet), as a Winter Fest Sight and Sound Finalist.

As a result of Hollywood and universities' lack of set safety protocols, Ailina and fellow NYU colleagues co-founded an on-campus stunt team, Dohn, Dugan, and Chung Stunts. They introduced safety plans, guided rehearsals, and choreographed over 40 undergrad films.

Her thesis film, Campus Crimefighters is anarrative short currently in post production. The film showcases superheroes in college and tackles the responsibilities of doing the right thing even when others may not agree. Ailina’s thesis provided the opportunity to work with SAG stunt coordinator, Stephen Koefer (The Crowded Room, John Wick 3).

Ailina is a recipient of the Nestor Almendros Award for Cinematography for Chapped Lips (Dir. Adam Olkin), a dramatic romance thesis film destigmatizing polyamorous relationships. She took on the project to collaborate with intimacy coordinator, Olivia Kormos. Ailina’s cinematography was acknowledged for its vibrant triadic colors in lighting and handheld camera movement.

In her position with the FISU World University Games in Lake Placid, NY, she had the opportunity to film an official documentary for the organizing committee. Ailina worked with ESPN to capture action shots of collegiate athletes from 43 countries highlighting the passion for winter sports and climate change.

Working bicoastally, Ailina traveled to Los Angeles, CA as a production assistant for the hit reality dating show Netflix’s Love is Blind Season 6responsible for cast lockup and general production tasks.

Ailina’s background includes 8+ years of competitive dance, photography, phlebotomy, and other adventurous interests like skydiving or jetskiing. Ailina’s desires to be in the midst of action pushes her to seek out more thrilling projects in media and entertainment. When Ailina is not freelancing, she loves to travel, play billiards at the local bar, and watch the latest Marvel film at least twice in theaters!
